About Me

My name is Max. I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. And I dislike describing myself in paragraph-form, so this section will be brief.

I attended an arts/science magnet high school and was exposed to my first real science class in 9th grade. I was hooked from there.

I attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta for four years and graduated with a B.S. in Physics in the spring of 2013. While at Tech I gained a world-class education, and experience in both the service and technical/research industries. I tutored/mentored local elementary school children in STEM my freshman year and I helped with occasional science outreach activities through various clubs. I also worked in an experimental physics lab that studied the properties of things moving on and in granular media and I completed an undergraduate thesis.

My interests/hobbies include science, math, education, data and data analysis, one or two non-competitive sports, and a handful of TV shows.

About the Site

This website is meant to be three things: an educational tool for you, a learning experience for me, and a place to keep and display my little pet projects. Each post in the other sections follows a certain concept or theme. I write about the subject and its importance to every-day life, I provide pictures and illustrations, and whenever possible I've made hands-on Javascript interactives. This helps me further my educational and programming skills as well as teaches me the basics of web development.
